WELCOME TO THE HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH
We extend a warm welcome to all who are visiting or are new to our parish.
If you attend Holy Spirit regularly and consider this your parish, please register using the forms available in the narthex of the church or come to the church office Monday through Thursday between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS
Did you know that about 80% of all adults coming into the Catholic Church do so because of a personal invitation from a friend, relative, or neighbor? Did you know that many who have considered becoming Catholic say that no one ever asked them to become a member of our Church? This is an invitation to all of our parishioners to spread the word about our RCIA program. If you know of someone who may be interested in joining our RCIA community, invite them to be part of our Catholic tradition! Please contact the church office at 788-6386, with the names and phone numbers of any potential inquirers. RCIA classes will be on Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:00 PM beginning on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

SUMMER REMINDERS
School is out. Summer is here and many of us will be vacationing. Our regular habits and attitudes change.
I pastorally remind you not to forget about God and your parish!
Traditionally, but unfortunately, Mass attendance declines during the summer months.
Should we really ever take a vacation break from God?
You plan every detail about your vacation trip and one of those details should be where and when you
will be attending Mass while out of town. Also please do not forget your financial commitment
to the offertory and building fund here at Holy Spirit. Our salaries, utilities,
and construction expenses never take a vacation!
I’m embarrassed to have to write this, but we can’t take anything for granted anymore when it comes to Mass apparel:
No short-shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits, halter or tanks tops, tee shirts, or flip flops.
Shoes or nice sandals are a must.
I love all of you, but I really don’t want to see your bare midriffs or bare backs!
Respect for our awesome God, respect for ourselves and those around us at Mass should motivate and inspire us to dress appropriately as we enter God’s house even during the hot, humid summer months!

OUR SYMPATHY
Our heartfelt sympathy and support to Connie Forget and her family on the death of her husband of 50 years, Bill Forget. Although he has passed from this earthly life, his legacy will live on in all the wonderful contributions he has made
to this parish and the Macon-Bibb County community. Please keep this family in your prayers
as they go through this very difficult time. May he rest in peace!

THANKS! THANKS! THANKS!
Our sincerest appreciation to our band, SECOND WIND, for a wonderful weekend of entertainment and fund-raising for our Building Fund. A great, big "Thank You!" to all of you who came out to the Fish N' Pig on Friday night and/or the Shamrock on Saturday night to support the band; a fun time was had by all!

VACATION
We wish Mrs. Petra Baker, our CCD Director and Bookkeeper, a very happy, relaxing, and safe vacation as she travels
